Lawmakers Demand CEO’s Take A $1.00 Salary While Providing Themselves With A $4,700 Pay Raise

All I want for Christmas is a big fat raise…

for me…

but not for you!

In fact, we [congressional law makers] want you [CEO’s] to take a pay cut.

How does a dollar a year salary sound to you?

The Hill

A crumbling economy, more than 2 million constituents who have lost their jobs this year, and congressional demands of CEOs to work for free did not convince lawmakers to freeze their own pay.

Instead, they will get a $4,700 pay increase, amounting to an additional $2.5 million that taxpayers will spend on congressional salaries, and watchdog groups are not happy about it.

“As lawmakers make a big show of forcing auto executives to accept just $1 a year in salary, they are quietly raiding the vault for their own personal gain,” said Daniel O’Connell, chairman of The Senior Citizens League (TSCL), a non-partisan group.

That’s okay, we don’t actually expect you to lead by example, to practice what you preach.

We are use to the fact that you are hypocrites and would expect nothing else from you.

I know there are those out there who are in agreement that CEO’s should work for free or be paid a symbolic amount of one dollar per year, after all they’ve made enough money over the years.

People who come to such conclusions are going to typically be those who are envious of the success of others or have a red socialist streak running up their backs.

No man, no woman should go unpaid for their labor.

No man, no woman, no government body should demand or force any person to go unpaid for their labor.
